Dolgarrog Community Council Vacancy
The council are always actively looking for potential Community Councillors and currently have one vacancy. We have 8 councillors, a Clerk and a Youth Councillor. The Community Council look after the Community Centre, the Memorial Grounds, the play park, the Cenotaph and local parish issues. Where the Community Council can't resolve an issue, they can signpost residents to appropriate support and assistance. The council have also chosen to deliver events such as Dolgarrog 100 commemorating the Dam Disaster in 2025, and are working in partnership with North Wales Wildlife Trust to deliver a Nature Networks, Heritage Lottery funded project Gwneud Traciau | Making Tracks. This exciting project is enabling us to deliver nature themed activities for adults, families and children and we have already seen improved paths and steps in the Memorial Grounds. August 2026 has seen the building of an exciting new path from the Memorial Grounds above the village and back down the pipes to the church. This has been done with contractors and the help of local volunteers. Thanks to everyone who has been involved. Some people would rather do hands on work than join a committee so if that's you and you can spare any time on a Tuesday - the Conservation Group meet every Tuesday at the Canolfan and are out and about in the village working hard to improve our environment. Please contact our project officer Sue Loughran for more information. Susan.loughran@northwaleswildlifetrust.org.uk
If you think you would like to join Dolgarrog Community Council the time commitment is one meeting per month which rarely exceeds an hour and then most councillors offer time or skills during the month that reflect their personal interests and abilities. The most important thing is that it is rewarding and an opportunity to give something back to your community.
For an informal chat please contact any of the councillors, the Chair or Clerk or alternatively come along and observe a monthly meeting. You don't need to give any notice as all of our meetings are public.
